Have you ever noticed that in every season of life there is some sort of challenge? Whether it is physical, emotional or spiritual, we are constantly facing some sort of “HARD.”
We live in a lost and broken world so loved by God. As the result of sin, we have struggle!
Even creation is impacted. We see this in Romans 8:21-23,
“…that the creation itself will be set free from its bondage to decay and brought into the glorious freedom of the children of God. We know that the whole creation has been groaning together in the pains of childbirth until the present time. Not only that, but we ourselves, who have the first fruits of the Spirit, groan inwardly as we wait eagerly for our adoption as sons, the redemption of our bodies…”
The other day I was asking the Lord how long a current struggle in my life was going to last. The Lord reminded me of the words of Jesus in John 16:33,
“I have told you these things, so that in me you may have peace. In this world you will have trouble. But take heart! I have overcome the world.”
While the Lord did not answer how long this particular challenging season will last, I felt the Lord whisper, “This is your current HARD, Elsie. There will always be some thing HARD in your life. You can’t escape that, but what you do with it does matter.”
What is your current HARD? How are you handling it? Are you complaining about it, ignoring it, or battling it yourself? Or are you surrendering it and inviting the Lord in to it?
