Both my Dad and my husband’s favorite Christmas song is The Little Drummer Boy. When I was little I didn’t understand how a little boy who was present for the birth of Jesus could be singing a song today 😉
I was thinking about the premise of The Little Drummer Boy today. The ultimate gift giving dilemma—what do you get for the person who has/owns everything? This sweet little boy gets it! He plays his drum.
This reminded me of what we all “give” to Jesus in response to salvation.
We can’t possibly be good enough. We can’t possibly do enough. We can’t possibly say enough. We can’t possibly know enough.
So, what does Jesus ask of us? He asks for our heart.
Our heart–the one thing that can’t be bought or forced. It is so simple and yet so complex. I’m not sure why it hit me so strongly today, but it did.
What is the best gift you could give Jesus this Christmas? The gift of your heart.
