Confession: I’m not a very good housekeeper. I enjoy meal planning, cooking and baking, but cleaning—ugh, it is the worst!

Our mudroom has dark, slate tile. As a result of the dark tile and grout, I can go a long, long time before realizing how dirty it is. So gross!

This week we needed to move the couch to find the remote control for the television. We found an entire world of grimy treasures under the couch. So gross!

Every now and again the laundry utility tub won’t drain properly and I’ll find stale, stagnate dirty laundry water pooling in the basin. So gross!

These are just 3 quick examples of the dirt we can’t see.

There is plenty of dirt (sin) in my own life you can’t see. Honestly, I’ll probably do my best to ensure you’ll never see it, but it is there. Believe me, it is there!

I wrestle with many the same things you do (and probably some you don’t) on a daily basis! I may try to fool the rest of the world by hiding the dirt, I may even fool myself. But you know who isn’t fooled? God. He sees everything.

Proverbs 28:13
“If you hide your sins, you will not succeed. If you confess and reject them, you will receive mercy.”

At the same time, God sees all of the sin in my life AND also sees me spotless and new through the blood of Jesus. Simply amazing. God is like the ultimate Roomba cleaning machine.

What if instead of trying to hide our sin, we partnered with God to clean us up?
