The problem with spilled toothpaste is once the toothpaste is squeezed out of the tube; there is no way to put it back in! Toothpaste isn’t salvageable once it has been spilled.
This is so much like our speech. Once something comes out of our mouth, it is difficult to take it back. The damage may already be done once it leaves our lips.
The Bible says this,
“Set a guard over my mouth, LORD; keep watch over the door of my lips.” Psalm 143:1
We need to be careful what we allow to come out of our mouths because it can have hurtful consequences. Ask the Lord to put a guard over your mouth in order that you speak only things that are pleasing to him!
