I’m sure you’ve heard it said that prayer is our most powerful weapon. I’ve been praying that God would increase my love for specific people in my life. The love is already there, but I desire an abundance of love!
You may be familiar with Matthew 5:44, “You have heard that it was said, ‘Love your neighbor’ and ‘hate your enemy.’ But I tell you, pray for those who persecute you that you may be sons of your Father in heaven.”
God can do ANYTHING! God can turn enemies in to friends. God can give love where there is no love. God can increase love where there is a seed.
While I can’t personally think of an enemy I have in my life, the same principles apply. When we pray for someone, God turns our heart towards that person. I do not believe you can consistently pray for someone cannot grow in love for him or her.
Give it a try. Is there someone in your life you know God is calling you to love? Is there someone that you’d like to love more abundantly? I encourage you to start praying for them every day. I guarantee that over time, God will turn your heart towards them and supernaturally give you love for them. I’ve experienced this in my own life! If God can do it for me, God can do it for you too!
