Are you someone that likes to pack up Christmas decorations immediately after Christmas? Some people are! I actually tend to be late to put up the Christmas decorations and late to take them down. I leave up the tree until at least January 15th each year. I like to enjoy the tree as long as possible. I probably should try to get it up sooner next year.

I also get a little sad taking down Christmas decorations. Christmas is my favorite time of year and it always seems to go by so quickly! My heart hurts just a little knowing I have to wait another 11.5 months for next Christmas.

I was thinking about packing up Christmas and I felt the Lord whisper, “You know, you can be this excited about me all year long. It is possible!”

Christmas gives us ample opportunity to reflect on Jesus. We tend to intentionally build in moments of connection. The traditions give us space to feel the warm fuzzies of nostalgia.

What would it look like to intentionally look for those types of places and spaces for connection with Jesus throughout the year? Jesus asks us to continue to grow in intimacy with him as a disciple.

Jesus said, “If you continue in My word, then you are truly disciples of Mine;” John 8:31

What is something the Lord showed you or taught you this Christmas? How might you hold on to that even as the holiday season comes to a close? What might you do to continue the joy of Christmas throughout the year?
