I saw a meme that I will never forget. It said this:
“You know who is always there for you? LAUNDRY. Laundry is always there for you.” As the Mom of 3 boys, I do not believe there is a more true statement.

As I type this I have an entire air hockey/ping pong table in our basement completely covered with laundry that needs to be put away. I’d include a picture, but it is just too shameful!

We also had our dryer break a week ago and we are waiting for our new dryer to arrive. Meanwhile, every few days I go to my in-law’s house to do laundry. One thing you can always count on having is laundry.

Laundry is the type of chore that never feels complete. In fact, I heard someone say, “Unless your standing without any clothes on, the laundry is never done!”

In a world of social distancing, mask wearing and limited people exposure, it is easy to feel alone. Over the past 10 months, there have been times I’ve feel very alone.

During times like these, the words of Jesus have given me comfort,

Matthew 28:19-20
Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey all that I have commanded you. And surely, I am with you always even to the end of the age.”

Believe or not, Jesus is more consistent than laundry.
When we can’t see our friends and family, Jesus is there.
When we can’t go to work, Jesus is there.
When we haven’t had regular human contact, Jesus is there.
On our best day and on our worst, Jesus is there.

Living the #momlife I often crave time to myself. (And 5 minutes in the shower while your toddler tries to climb in the shower with you doesn’t count) But it hasn’t always been that way. There were seasons were loneliness was palpable. During the darkest moments, I would lie in bed, surround myself with pillows and ask God to help me feel his presence. God met me in those moments. I knew I wasn’t alone.

If you are struggling with loneliness or feeling God’s presence, ask the Lord to reveal himself to you. Jesus is always with you!
