I have a sign on our front door that says, “Shhhh! Baby sleeping and crazy dog! Please do not ring or knock! Family and friends may call or text. Kindly leave packages at the door.”
However, many people don’t see the sign until after they’ve knocked or rung the doorbell. Well, you do what you can do! Quite honestly, even if someone does knock or ring, I often ignore it out of convenience and busyness!
There is one visitor that is always welcome to knock on the door of my heart. Jesus.
Jesus says in Revelation 3:20, “Behold, I stand at the door and knock; if anyone hears my voice and opens the door, I will come in to him and will dine with him, and he with me.”
When Jesus knocks on the door of your heart, he isn’t a solicitor. He doesn’t need a signature for a package. He is offering you his grace!
With all the other knocking, it may be easy to ignore the knocking of Jesus. Pay attention today. Listen for him. When he knocks, be sure to answer. You won’t be disappointed.
