As children, one of the first songs we learn in Sunday school is Jesus Loves Me.

Jesus loves me this I know. For the bible tells me so. Little ones to him belong. They are week but he is strong. Yes, Jesus loves me. Yes, Jesus loves me. Yes, Jesus loves me. The bible tells me so.

What if we flipped that around a bit and instead of Jesus loves me this I know, we said, Jesus knows me this I love?

“O Lord, you have searched me and known me! You know when I sit down and when I rise up; you discern my thoughts from afar. You search out my path and my lying down and are acquainted with all my ways. Even before a word is on my tongue, behold, O Lord, you know it altogether. You hem me in, behind and before, and lay your hand upon me. Such knowledge is too wonderful for me, it is high; I cannot attain it.” Psalm 139:1-6

God made each of us, and God is the only one who knows everything about us! Think about it this way:
– There are things only God knows about you.
– There are things only you and God know about you.
– There are things you, God and others know about you.
– There are things only God and others know about you. (You don’t know them about yourself!)

In all of these scenarios, God is the only one who knows everything! Isn’t that amazing? We can’t hide anything from God. God already knows and God loves us no less!

Even if your child did something wrong and you already know about it, wouldn’t you still want to hear it from them? Even though your spouse told you they loved you on your wedding day, don’t you still want to hear it again? The beautiful part of our relationship with God is that even though God already knows, God wants to hear from us. Take a moment and thank God for knowing you so intimately and loving you unconditionally!
