Everyone has done it. It happened to me yesterday.
You are going about your day, minding your own business and you inadvertently knock over a glass! Don’t you hate that? Not only is it embarrassing, but it makes a huge mess! Everything that was inside the glass spills out everywhere! Now you have to clean up the mess!
Matthew 15:18 says,
“But the things that come out of the mouth come from the heart, and it is those things that make a person unclean.”
A friend of mine said to me once, “Sooner or later you get caught being yourself.”
We can’t hide our insides. Eventually the things in our hearts will spill out! Our mouth speaks what is in our hearts!
What is in your heart? What are you cultivating in your heart? Are you every afraid of what might spill out? Ask the Lord today to purify your heart in order that everything that comes out of your mouth is pleasing to him!
