“GENTLE HANDS!!!”
If I’ve said it once, I’ve said it a thousand times…”Please use gentle hands!”
I have 3 boys (2 teenagers and a toddler) who love to rough house. Gentle is not the word I’d use for how they regularly interact with each other, but we’re working on it.
For the month of August, we are focusing on the fruit of gentleness. When one thinks about gentleness, one may feel like to be gentle is to be weak. That isn’t the case at all! In fact, I believe it takes more self control to be gentle than it does to be curt. It’s clear from scripture that God values a gentle spirit.
Phillians 4:5, Let your gentleness be evident to all. The Lord is near.
Proverbs 15:1, A gentle answer turns away wrath, but a harsh word stirs up anger.

The next time you’re provoked and want to lash out at someone, take a deep breath, and pray. Ask the Lord to give you a gentle spirit and to be able to respond the way God would respond.
