Well, I figured it was only a matter of time before I shared a blog post about diapers. I’ll try to keep it as clean as possible, I promise 🙂
As a parent, diaper blowouts are inevitable! If you have a baby with a healthy GI system, he/she is going to have the occasional blowout!
Our big boys are incredibly helpful with the baby. They will watch him while I’m cooking dinner or taking a shower. They will play with him. They will feed him. The only thing they won’t do is change the baby’s diaper. (Sigh, tween boys! Maybe someday they will.)
During the most recent diaper blowout, the baby was joyfully squirming everywhere. I was quickly stripping down the agile baby trying to avoid further mess and said out loud, “Don’t get any one you!”
I was reflecting on that phrase later that day and I actually imagined God the Father saying something like that to Jesus before he sent him to earth. Perhaps some sort of conversation like this, “Look son, I know you’re perfect. I know heaven is perfect. It is a hot mess down there. Just try not to get any on you!”
Yet what does Jesus do? He took on ALL the mess, ALL the sin…for US!
“God made him who had no sin to be sin for us, so that in him we might become the righteousness of God.”
2 Corinthians 5:21
Jesus stepped into the mess. Jesus became the mess, so that we could escape the mess. Now that is good news!
